Thanks so much for visiting. We're excited to share our comic with you! Like many kids with serious food allergies, Stella wished others could understand her situation a bit better. She was always drawing pictures about it and making little handmade booklets for her friends. In  the first grade, she asked her teacher to do an "allergy drill" after the fire drill they did as a class.

I have a background in small-press zines and graphic narrative, so we decided to sit down and make a comic book for the start of the school year. We printed up copies for every family, and distributed them at the all-school potluck. 

It was amazing to look around the tables and see kids of every age engrossed in Stella's comic. We have been really touched by the results. The project raised empathy and awareness throughout the school (and also much enthusiasm for making comics!) Kids still come up to Stella to shyly tell her how much they enjoyed the book, and many parents encouraged us to get it out there beyond the school. So thanks, everyone - here it is! We hope you enjoy it and share it with your communities, too.
